At Maine Farmland Trust we try to keep operational costs to a minimum. To this end we depend on our members to be active participants in the work that we do.

There are many different ways volunteers can help:

• Help us assemble mailings. Several times each year we need to prepare newsletters, fundraising appeals, and notices to our members.
• Be part of an event organizing team. Use your party-planning skills to help us organize various events throughout the year. Enjoy meeting people who support Maine's farms and play a central role in helping people contribute to and celebrate our work.
• Represent MFT at public events. Join MFT staff and help out at an information booth at events like the Common Ground Fair, Ag Trades Show or your local farmers' market. NOTE: We will train potential volunteers before expecting you to play this role.
• Are you a member of another community service organization like the Rotary Club, Lions Club. or a Moms’ Group? 
Tell your group about MFT and/or add us to your list of speakers.
