“Growing Solutions” outdoor screening + panel

September 23, 2020 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Growing Solutions screening
screening: Wednesday, September 23rd @6PM (Maine Beer Co.)

Join MFT and Wolfe’s Neck Center for an outdoor screening of the film, Growing Solutions: Soil, Water, Farmers, Seeds, Roots, produced by the Johns Hopkins Center for a Livable Future. The film is part of the FoodSpan curriculum, which provides an overview of the food system. After the screening, a panel will be held to discuss the themes and how they relate to farming in Maine, with Wolfe’s Neck Center’s Agricultural Research Coordinator, Leah Puro, and MFT’s Policy & Research Director, Ellen Stern Griswold.

We are currently at capacity for this event. If you would like to get on a waiting list, please email rkeidan@mainefarmlandtrust.org.

About the film: In the face of threats to our farming future such as climate change, people are innovating to protect and regenerate our most vital resources – soil, water, seeds, and our farmer workforce. Growing Solutions features a centuries-old water conservation method, a farmer who’s growing topsoil faster than most thought possible, a seed-saving high school, a farmer training program for military veterans, and researchers who are developing a perennial style of agriculture that mimics the prairie.
