Understanding PFAS: Farms, Food, and Community

October 20, 2022 @ 6:30 pm - 7:45 pm

Free

Join a community discussion led by Maine Farmland Trust to learn the latest on PFAS chemical contamination and its impacts on Maine farms.

Join Maine Farmland Trust’s President and CEO Amy Fisher, Vice President & Deputy Director Ellen Griswold, and Farm Network Director Tricia Rouleau at the Yarmouth History Center to learn more about PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) contamination on farmland in Maine and how our response to the issue is leading the way for the rest of the country. They will discuss the implications of PFAS for our farms and communities; what lies ahead in state and federal policy work; and the latest with farmer support programs, research on remediation efforts, and how the community can get involved. This event includes an interactive Q&A format to foster a community dialog about this critical issue.

Light refreshments will be served.
