Farmland Access Conference draws farmers, policymakers, advocates

Co-hosts MFT & Land For Good held another successful conference to tackle farmland access issues on December 4, 2017 in Augusta. US Rep. Chellie Pingree and Maine DACF Commissioner Walt Whitcomb joined the plenary panel discussion with Amanda Beal of MFT and Jim Hafner of Land For Good. Workshop topics ranged from Using Conservation Easements as a Component of a Farm Purchase to Protecting the Farm and the Family from Long Term Care Expenses and Crafting and Maintaining Great Leases and attracted farmland seekers, retiring farmers, ag service providers, policymakers, and others.
