Farmers, fishermen, and producers of Maine foods and goods are invited to participate in the annual Maine Fare food festival Market. Each year the Market is an exceptional showcase of the abundance of food that comes from Maine and the creativity of Maine’s food producers. The Market is a fun and festive atmosphere with vendors, musicians, food trucks, sampling, kids’ activities, and more. Attendees are passionate about Maine’s food economy and enjoy meeting the people who work to put food on our plates.

Maine Fare is an annual food festival celebrating Maine food and food producers while digging deeper into some of the key challenges of our time – creating economic vitality, rebuilding community infrastructure, ensuring equitable access to healthy food, and instilling sustainability in all segments of the local food economy. Maine Fare brings everyone to the table – farmers, fishermen, foodies, nonprofits, food businesses, and eaters! – to celebrate a vibrant and delicious future for food, farming, and fishing in Maine.

Maine Fare is co-hosted by Maine Farmland Trust and Penobscot East Resource Center. Maine Farmland Trust is a statewide nonprofit organization working to protect farmland, support farmers, and advance the future of farming in Maine. Penobscot East Resource Center is a nonprofit organization that works to secure a diversified fishing future for the communities of Eastern Maine and beyond. Maine Fare is made possible by many sponsors who support local food in Maine, including Point Lookout Resort and Camden Printing.

This year’s festival will be Friday + Saturday, June 26 + 27 on the waterfront in Belfast. The Market will be Saturday, June 26, 10:00am – 4:30pm. Farmers, fishermen, and producers of Maine foods and goods who are interested in participating in the Market can find more information on the Maine Fare website, www.maine-fare.org, or can contact Alex Fouliard at Maine Farmland Trust, (207) 338-6575, alex@mainefarmlandtrust.org for registration details.
