Join us for a public colloquium from 7-8pm at Colby College in Waterville to learn more about research and farmer support efforts in Maine. This event will be held in the Schair-Swenson-Watson Alumni Center at Colby College - 4370 Mayflower Hill Drive, Waterville, ME. No RSVP is necessary.
As a follow-up to the national symposium MFT recently co-organized in Michigan, the PFAS and Agriculture Maine Regional Meeting is being organized by Colby College’s Environmental Studies Department, Maine Farmland Trust, and the University of Maine. A full-day conference will bring together impacted farmers, researchers, policymakers, advocates, students, and agricultural organizations to deepen connections and collaborations on research and policy/regulatory efforts here in the Northeast. Following the conference, we encourage community members who are interested in learning more about these efforts to join us for the evening public colloquium: PFAS and Maine Farms.
Moderated by Gail Carlson, Assistant Professor of Environmental Studies and Director of the Colby College Buck Lab for Climate and Environment, you'll hear from a panel of speakers:
Meagan Hennessey, Director of PFAS Response, DACF
Tricia Rouleau, Farm Network Director, Maine Farmland Trust
Adam Nordell, Farmland Contamination Campaign Manager, Defend Our Health; Impacted Farmer, Songbird Farm
