MFT's work was recently honored when Maine Magazine named

John Piotti one of "50 people who have made a difference in Maine."

From the magazine’s July issue:

“We cannot have sustainable rural communities without vibrant farms,” says John Piotti, the executive director of Maine Farmland Trust. Piotti and his colleagues are on a mission to ensure that tens of thousands of acres of Maine’s best farmland will remain as farmland, and that farmers will continue to feed us and our economy. Piotti is shepherding a new generation of farmers, providing support for those farmers, and doing all he can to help make rural places more sustainable—to help them be economically vibrant without “spoiling what’s special or driving out the locals."
