Waldo County 4-H at MFT Gallery

Belfast — Through Feb. 20, Maine Farmland Trust Gallery is hosting an exhibit compiled by several youth members of Waldo County 4-H. Under the supervision of Marilyn Schofield, Nicole, Shaynen and Mackensie Schofield put together a pictorial overview of 4-H activities that center around agriculture, food preservation and wood science.

Viewers can see not only photographs of 4-H clubs working with animals or learning the ropes of food preservation, but also a collection of drawings by the Cloverbuds, the youngest 4-H club. Some 4-H youth members have created specific educational displays that cover a certain topic such as the growth of a lamb or poultry farming. The exhibit is an opportunity to see what Waldo County's 4H is up to.

Maine Farmland Trust is a statewide nonprofit organization working to permanently preserve and protect Maine's agricultural lands, and to keep Maine's farms farming. Its gallery is located at 97 Main St. and is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, visit mainefarmlandtrust.org.
